Jahlil Cherron Finne, 23, was sentenced to 15 years after pleading guilty to charges related to two knife-involved robberies at a phone store on South Kingshighway. Finne admitted to two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action for threatening store employees with a knife over a period of weeks, according to the Circuit Attorney's Office.

The first robbery occurred on February 27, 2024, around 9 p.m., when Finne targeted a 25-year-old female employee, demanding money and taking cash and several phones. Surveillance captured both the incident and the threats he made. The second robbery took place on March 15, 2024, when Finne returned to the store and stole cash and ten phones after confronting a 23-year-old male employee. Officers later tracked one of the stolen phones to his residence, recovering most of the stolen items and arresting him.

In an official statement, Circuit Attorney Gabe Gore emphasized the seriousness of the crimes, saying, The employees in these robberies were young, alone, and confronted by a man wielding a knife. No one should face that kind of fear at work. This sentence brings accountability and protects others from becoming the defendant’s next victims.” He noted that the sentence holds Finne accountable and helps protect future potential victims. Assistant Circuit Attorney Grant Simon led the prosecution in the case, listed under case number 2422-CR02324-01.
