Maricopa County will implement approved park fee changes starting January 1, 2026, the Board of Supervisors announced. The adjustments aim to cover rising maintenance, utility, and resource costs. County Parks said the existing fee structure was insufficient to meet the growing demands on the park system.
The fee schedule will increase the day-use vehicle entry fee from $7 to $10 by 2026, reaching $12 by 2028. Annual individual passes will rise from $85 to $120 next year and $160 within two years. Vice Chair Kate Brophy McGee said the public loves the county parks and that adjusting fees to match costs is essential to maintain services and amenities.
Campers and RV enthusiasts should expect higher camping and reservation fees for developed, semi-developed, primitive, and shaded RV sites. The county also plans to adjust fees for special-use permits, land-use permits, event rentals, vendor fees, and other services to better match actual costs.
County residents can expect the revenue from these fees to support park maintenance, operations, and ecological preservation. Jennifer Waller, Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Director, said the parks are vital community assets that require care, investment, and protection. The funding will help keep the parks safe, clean, and accessible.
