San Diego police spent yesterday tracking a gunman on the run after an armed robbery at a Lincoln Park Subway left employees rattled but physically unharmed. Witnesses said a masked man pulled a gun, grabbed cash from the register and bolted from the shop on foot.
Officers rushed to the scene and canvassed nearby blocks while detectives collected evidence, according to NBC 7 San Diego. Police also pushed out an initial alert on social media as the investigation got underway.
When It Happened and Suspect Description
The holdup was reported around 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Subway on the 300 block of Euclid Avenue. Employees told officers the robber demanded cash from the register, showed a firearm and then ran off on foot. He was described as a man in his 20s, about 5-foot-10, wearing a blue hoodie, light blue jeans, a black mask and carrying a black backpack, according to FOX 5 San Diego.
Police Search and Public Ask
Officers carried out a large search of the surrounding neighborhood and spoke with potential witnesses while processing the scene, NBC 7 San Diego reported. Investigators said the case remains active and urged anyone with information to contact the San Diego Police Department.
Neighborhood Context
The 300 block of Euclid Avenue has seen violence in past years, including a 2020 shooting that left one man dead. In that earlier case, two men were involved in a fight and both were shot, ABC 10News reported.
