Residents of the 9000 block of Johnston Street are on high alert following a second burglary at the same residence this year, with investigators believing the incidents to be connected. According to the Memphis Police Department, the first break-in occurred on June 4, when intruders forced entry and made off with over $32,000 in cash and valuables after a Ring camera recorded a suspect canvassing the home.
The second incident took place last Saturday, when suspects shattered a window to gain entrance, maneuvering through the residence by breaking holes in the ceiling to circumvent the home's cameras; however, this time they left without taking any property. The damage to the home is yet untold. Officers arrived at the scene following the break-in at approximately 10:50 a.m., amid concerns that the disruptive pattern demonstrates a growing boldness in local criminal activities.
The Memphis Police Department has released surveillance images of the suspects, urging anyone with information to reach out. "Investigators believe that the pictured suspects may be responsible for both crimes," they mention, underscoring the seriousness with which they are treating these potentially linked crimes. Community members are encouraged to be vigilant and to contact Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH (2274) with any relevant details that might aid in the ongoing investigations.
