The Memphis Safe Task Force has reached a milestone of over 4,000 arrests since its launch, including 15 homicide suspects, more than 400 gang members, and 123 missing children, alongside 629 illegal firearms seized and 1,800 arrest warrants executed. "Since the launch of the Memphis Safe Task Force Operation, we have made more than 4,000 arrests, removing violent offenders from our streets and directly reducing violent crime across Memphis," said Gadyaces S. Serralta, Director of the U.S. Marshals Service.
Their efforts have contributed to significant drops in violent crime, with murders down 39.47%, sexual assaults 43.13%, robberies 59.58%, and motor vehicle thefts 69.63%. "This effort is about more than numbers, it is about upholding the rule of law, ensuring accountability, and creating safer neighborhoods where families can thrive," according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
The Memphis Safe Task Force has achieved results through cooperation among county, local, state, and federal partners. "Our success is built on collaboration and cooperation," Serralta told the press. "The men and women of the Memphis Safe Task Force, alongside our partners, should be commended for their dedication and professionalism in this continued success." He added, "We will not relent in our mission to uphold the law, ensure accountability, and deliver justice. Together, we are building a safer Memphis, one that will endure for generations to come," as reported by the U.S. Marshals Service.
