According to a social media post by the department at 8:10 p.m., authorities confirmed that Jackson has been found safe and thanked the community for helping spread the word.
Concerns grew over Ms. Jackson’s disappearance because of her dementia diagnosis, leading the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office to request the public’s help in locating her. She was last seen leaving her home on Yulee Street around 4:30 p.m. and was described as a 5’3” woman weighing 180 pounds, with brown eyes and grey braids. Her description was quickly shared, and she was found safe just hours after the initial report. Details regarding her recovery have not yet been fully released.
The initial alert from law enforcement included a detailed description of Ms. Jackson and her clothing at the time she went missing: a white shirt, grey sweatpants, and no shoes. Providing these details helped both the community and authorities quickly identify and locate her.
