Last weekend, the Clay County Sheriff's Office hosted a gathering for young law enforcement hopefuls, as nearly 250 Explorers and Advisors from 22 counties across Florida convened for the 2025 Florida Sheriffs Explorers Association (FSEA) Conference. The event spanned two days filled with intense, hands-on training designed to simulate real-world law enforcement scenarios.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office reported that the Explorers engaged in a series of competitive exercises, including time spent on the gun range, and they tackled real-life scenario drills which provided the perfect opportunity to hone their skills that have been cultivated throughout the year in preparation for such an event. Deputies Penn and Bass, mentioned in the social media post, played a key role in coordinating the event while local businesses such as The Church of Eleven22 and Island Wing Company were acknowledged for their support in making the 2025 conference possible.
The sheriff's office closed their social media statement, saying, "Thank you to all participants, volunteers, and supporters for helping make 2025’s conference one for the books," underscoring their appreciation for everyone who contributed, emphasizing that the success of the training and the community engagement at the conference was only possible with the dedication and volunteer work of many individuals that all came together for this goal.
