The Nevada Housing Division has introduced the Worker Advantage Program to help essential workers buy homes. Announced on Wednesday, the program provides $20,000 in down payment assistance and is expected to support about 900 Nevada households. “Nevada's essential workers keep our communities running - they care for us, teach our children, build our homes, and protect our neighborhoods,” Housing Division Director Steve Aichroth said in a statement to News3LV.

The program is open to essential workers in fields such as healthcare, education, public safety, and construction who have lived in Nevada for at least six months. It requires that the purchased home become the applicant’s primary residence and follows a first-come, first-served system with income limits set at 150% of the area median income.

Eligible buyers can receive assistance for down payments, closing costs, or discount points on homes priced up to $806,500. According to 8NewsNow, Aichroth said, "The Worker Advantage Program is one way we can support hardworking Nevadans who support all of us by helping them build stability and equity through homeownership."
