According to a social media post from Pasco County Fire Rescue, members of the A-Shift crew at Station 38 spent part of the holiday season with eight-year-old Liberty. The Facebook post noted that Liberty was accompanied by her elf, Miss Cupcake Frazzle, and that a firefighter participated in the visit, which was intended to create a positive experience for the child during the holidays.
Liberty’s mother later contacted Pasco County Fire Rescue to express her appreciation and granted permission for the department to share the experience publicly. In her message, sent during the Christmas holiday, she acknowledged the firefighter’s interaction with her daughter and the impact it had. The department shared the note as an example of community engagement beyond emergency response.
The Pasco County Fire Rescue post also included the statement, “being a first responder isn’t only about answering 911 calls. It’s also about the everyday opportunities to lift someone’s spirits, build trust, and be a positive part of the community we’re here to serve.”
