St. Augustine Beach residents and visitors planning to indulge in the festive cheer of New Year’s Eve will need to adjust their travel plans, as the Nights of Lights STAR Circulator on Anastasia Island won't be running next Wednesday. The service, which usually facilitates sightseers keen to partake in the island's Nights of Lights, is temporarily halting operations due to the New Year's Eve celebrations. This means those seeking the twinkling lights will have to find alternative transportation on that particular evening.
Nevertheless, Historic Tours of America is stepping up to ensure that the holiday spirit isn't dampened by providing free park and ride shuttle services specifically for the City of St. Augustine Beach and its firework showcase. According to a recent announcement, despite the suspension, these shuttles won't to regularly offer nighttime service for the City of St. Augustine's Nights of Lights.
After the brief hiatus, the STAR Circulator is slated to return to its normal schedule, resuming operations on Anastasia Island starting next Thursday. From 5:00pm to midnight, riders will be able to once again take advantage of the free shuttle service. Running nightly until January 11, the Circulator's route includes various stops along A1A Beach Blvd., depositing visitors at a convenient location near the Bridge of Lions, just a stone's throw from the festivities.
As for the downtown St. Augustine explorers, they won't have to wait too long to get back to their preferred mode of transport. The STAR Circulator Downtown Connector, which serves the Historic District, is set to resume normal service hours of 10:00am to 10:00pm starting on Monday, January 12, 2026.
