A violent robbery in Keizer, Oregon, resulted in three suspects being apprehended earlier this month, ending a weeks-long investigation into a targeted home invasion that left a young man severely injured. On October 24, around 9:41 pm, 20-year-old Landon Ostrom was shot and subsequently robbed in his apartment by three armed attackers, as divulged in a social media post by the Keizer Police Department. Despite critical wounds, Ostrom managed to seek help from neighbors, who, along with responding officers from Keizer PD, Salem Police Department, Marion County Sheriff's Office, and Polk County Sheriff's Office, provided first aid.
After a grueling investigation that spread across multiple counties and involved the support of FBI analysts, Oregon DOJ, and various local law enforcement agencies, a breakthrough occurred. Keizer Police detectives, together with those from the Salem PD and backed by the Eugene Police Department's SWAT, arrested Daniel Tijerina and Romeo Luna, both 20, alongside 19-year-old Franki Salyers-Livingston last Friday. Charged with Attempted Murder among other felonies, the suspects were part of a meticulous operation that required the collection of evidence surveilled over multiple jurisdictions before they were found.
The Keizer Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division spearheaded the investigative efforts by serving multiple subpoenas and search warrants. Their tireless work revealed that the attackers were familiar with Ostrom and his possessions, deeming the assault as a pointed mission rather than a random act of violence. Upon arrest, a seized firearm helped cement the case against them. The suspects, subsequently lodged at the Marion County Correctional Facility, now face severe legal repercussions for their alleged crimes, with the investigation still actively unfurling.
All three suspects are currently facing serious charges. Daniel Tijerina and Romeo Luna stand accused of Attempted Murder, Robbery in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Menacing; while Franki Salyers-Livingston has been charged with the same, in addition to Assault in the First Degree. Despite the arrests and progress within the case, the investigation remains open. Keizer Police are calling on anyone with potentially beneficial information to step forward and assist in further illuminating the situation.
