Authorities in the Metropolitan Police Department have reported the arrest of three teenagers in connection with an attempted robbery and assault. The incident occurred as a student was making their way home in Northeast Washington, D.C., when the suspects launched an unprovoked attack after the victim refused to hand over their possessions. According to a police statement, the assault took place on Tuesday, October 28 around 3:30 p.m., near the 100 block of Q Street, Northeast.

Despite the victim's non-compliance, the teens reportedly initiated the confrontation with demands that escalated into physical violence. The suspects, ranging from 12 to 14 years old, ended their assault without managing to steal any property and fled from the scene, leaving the victim with minor injuries. The details of this aggression surfaced when the police announced their apprehension.

The first arrest, a 12-year-old from Northeast, occurred two days prior to the announcement date, on Sunday. Following closely, a 13-year-old suspect from Southeast was detained yesterday. Concluding the round-up of suspects, in the northeast assault was a 14-year-old, also hailing from Southeast, brought into custody today. Each has been charged with Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.

Though the juvenile nature of the suspects resulted in the names being withheld, the case number, CCN: 25164191, affords some traceability to the public records. Each teen faced the charges based on a pre-petition custody order issued by the DC Superior Court.
