The community spirit shone through in Twinsburg recently as the annual "Special Santa Run," organized by Lineage Logistics and its Lineage Foundation for Good, brought together local businesses and the Twinsburg Fire Department in a collective effort to combat hunger. According to a social media post from Twinsburg Fire, this year's event, thanks to the efforts of Ashley Everett Durst and her team at Lineage Logistics, resulted in over 1,600 pounds of donated food and dry goods. These contributions are set to benefit the Our Community Hunger Center and Faith United Methodist Church food pantries.
After sorting and packaging the donations, the firefighters, along with the logistics team, were fed by Tony Susnjara and Nicole Gati from Carena Motors. The report stated that Lineage Logistics has been providing this service for several years, which the entire staff appreciates highly. Wrapped in the warmth of giving, participants like Wyatt Phillips, Christina Phillips, and the honored Ashley Everett Durst, among others, were recognized for their efforts. Ashley stood there, flanked by her daughters, Paisley and Finleigh, embodying the familial aspect of this charitable work.
In an era where community involvement often takes a backseat to personal agendas, actions such as the "Special Santa Run" represent a refreshing countertrend. The event doesn't just alleviate immediate needs but continues to foster a sense of solidarity within Twinsburg, palpable in the grateful acknowledgments showered upon those who fed the team and firefighters. Their gesture, though small in the grand narrative of a community's life, sustains the very bonds that make such a narrative possible.
