A marijuana grow operation in Washington has been dismantled by authorities, leading to the arrest of seven individuals on various charges. Despite the legal status of marijuana in the state, illegal operations such as these remain a concern for law enforcement due to the potential for dangerous situations they might introduce. As reported by the Pierce County Sheriff's Department Blotter, the Special Investigations Unit executed three search warrants last Friday at locations across the area, uncovering over 2,000 marijuana plants and seizing more than $16,000 in cash along with two guns.

The addresses, listed by the PCSD Blotter, were the 8100 block of 113th St. Ct E, the 22000 block of 45th Ave. E, and the 7500 block of 184th St. E. The arrested individuals are now to face charges that include unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance and the unlawful use of a building for drug purposes. Despite the state's more lenient stance on marijuana use, such illegal endeavors undermine the regulated system put in place to safely administer cannabis distribution.

In a less conventional incident, a would-be burglar found himself literally trapped in the act. The same Pierce County Sheriff's Department Blotter report goes on to detail the peculiar situation a man faced after attempting to burglarize a home on Park Ave. S. The homeowners, barricading themselves inside for protection, reported the intruder's forceful efforts to gain entry last Friday.

The suspect, eventually identified as a 20-year-old male, managed to get his foot stuck under a fence while trying to under crawl it. The responding deputies had to utilize bolt cutters to free his foot. Once liberated, the man was arrested for residential burglary. It was clear from the outset that the suspect was under the influence of a substance, adding yet another layer to an already bizarre crime story.
