A recent visit to Universal Studios Florida turned harrowing for a woman when she was attacked by a security guard's dog, as per a lawsuit. The plaintiff, whose identity has yet to be disclosed, was seeking assistance for her autistic daughter when the alleged incident occurred.
According to WFTV, the woman had reached out to guest services before her visit, endeavoring to ensure her daughter, who suffers from severe autism, would be well accommodated. On their advice, upon arrival at the park, the mother approached a patrolling security guard who was partnered with a guard dog, meant to provide help to her daughter, but there were no warnings that indicated the dog could be a threat.
"I have an autistic child," the woman told the security guard, confirming that he was an employee of the park, detailed by WFTV. It was then that, without provocation, the dog is said to have leapt at her, biting her arm, wrist, and abdomen, as recounted in the lawsuit. These injuries are described as serious and lasting, with the potential for permanent repercussions.
Similarly, reporting on this unfolding story, Orlando Theme Park Zone echoed claims that there were no signs advising visitors of the dog's violent potential. The guard dog, tasked with the safety and security of park-goers, instead became the alleged assailant in a shocking turn of events.
As this lawsuit progresses, further details will likely emerge, shedding light on the circumstances of the incident and the procedures in place for visitor safety when interacting with security personnel and their canine counterparts at theme parks.
