Bostonians are waking up to slippery conditions after a winter storm swept through Worcester County and southern New Hampshire, leaving significant snowfall. The National Weather Service forecasts mostly clear skies today, with a high near 39°F and gusty winds up to 23 mph.
Although the sun has returned, the storm’s aftermath is causing school delays and hazardous travel, according to NBC Boston. Tomorrow afternoon, the region may see squalls bringing wind and snow, though conditions are expected to be brief and localized.
Colder air will move in after the squalls, bringing a frigid Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures will feel near zero overnight, with highs reaching only the upper 20s and wind chills in the upper teens later in the day.
Temperatures are expected to rise slightly over the weekend, reaching the mid to upper 30s, giving Bostonians a short break from the cold. NBC Boston reports no major storms are forecast in the near term, though a potential clipper storm next Thursday could bring snow or mixed precipitation.
