In a recent incident of domestic violence and drug possession, the Alhambra Police Department reported on an arrest made after a woman reported ongoing harassment and threats from her ex-boyfriend. According to the department's Facebook post, the suspect, identified as Esvin Jocolgomez of Los Angeles, CA, was apprehended after officers responded to a distressing situation involving him following his ex-partner to her workplace and home, confronting her, and threatening her safety with his vehicle.
The Alhambra Police disclosed that officers found Jocolgomez's vehicle with the engine still running while he was smoking outside a business near Shorb St. and Marguerita Ave. During the police search, officers discovered a white crystalline substance, certainly appearing to be illegal drugs, within plain view in the driver's door. The situation escalated as Jocolgomez was found to too casually possess more methamphetamine concealed in a rolled up dollar bill tucked within his sock, an attempt to hide it ultimately foiled by law enforcement.
Jocolgomez was arrested and booked at APD Jail following the discovery of the narcotics. The Alhambra Police Department took the opportunity to remind the public of the available resources for those facing situations of domestic violence. Alongside their report, they provided a hotline for LA County's Domestic Violence 24-hour Support Services, urging anyone in need of a safe place to stay or support to call 1-800-978-3600.
