The City of Atlantic Beach will close its offices tomorrow, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The holiday recognizes Dr. King’s contributions to civil rights, justice, and equality, providing an opportunity for reflection on his enduring legacy.
City officials noted that, for staff, the day is more than a scheduled day off; it serves as a time to acknowledge Dr. King’s commitment to service and the principles he championed. The city also extended appreciation to employees required to work during the holiday to maintain essential services, according to the City of Atlantic Beach.
While city offices will be closed, essential services will continue to operate as scheduled. Normal business hours for offices will resume on Tuesday.
