Biscuit Belly, a Kentucky-born chain, is opening its first Texas location in the Heights. The restaurant will serve scratch-made biscuits and brunch cocktails.
Where and when to expect it
Biscuit Belly has been tied to a Heights location at 3601 White Oak Drive, with the address reported by the Chron. The opening is penciled in for fall 2026, with that timeline noted by Community Impact. Founder and CEO Chad Coulter told the Chronicle he was drawn to the city’s current momentum, saying, “Houston has a very exciting food scene right now.”
What to expect from the menu
The concept leans all-in on biscuits. Menu listings on delivery and review platforms highlight Bonuts (biscuit donut holes), the Gravy Train flight of mini biscuits and gravy, and a roster of loaded biscuit sandwiches that take the carb game seriously. Rounding things out are French toast, pancakes and inside-out omelettes. Biscuit Belly’s own locations page already shows Houston among its forthcoming markets, and coffee plus breakfast cocktails keep the chain’s boozy brunch reputation intact.
Growth plans and the Texas push
The company has been in growth mode. A recent announcement via PR Newswire notes Biscuit Belly expanded to roughly a dozen-plus locations by the end of 2025 and is aiming for about 20 restaurants systemwide in 2026. Those plans include signed franchise and multi-unit deals that cover Houston, which helps explain why Texas is on the early priority list. Local operators say that if the Heights shop hits its stride, more Texas neighborhoods could eventually see their own Biscuit Belly builds.
A Heights spot with history
The White Oak address comes with some nostalgia. The building previously housed Gelazzi gelato, a longtime neighborhood favorite remembered for anchoring the block’s Greetings from Houston mural, according to Houston Press. In recent years, Houston’s dining scene has been drawing national attention, and local tourism and industry roundups point out that the city has become a popular landing spot for expanding restaurant concepts. A snapshot from Houston First situates Biscuit Belly’s entrance within that larger boom. Expect more details on permits, build-out work and an official opening date as the brand moves the Heights location from plan to reality.
