In a display of community spirit that transcends the call of duty, Central Pierce Fire & Rescue's Rescue 66 crew showcased an outstanding act of service after attending to a motor vehicle collision last Friday, according to a post on the organization's Facebook page.

The incident involved an Instacart delivery driver whose vehicle was disabled in the accident. The driver was not injured, though the car required towing. The Rescue 66 crew not only ensured the driver’s safety but also retrieved and delivered the groceries to the waiting customer. The conveyed sentiment from Central Pierce Fire & Rescue emphasized the value of such deeds, stating, "It was a small gesture that made a big difference for a grateful community member and a reminder that serving our community sometimes means going beyond emergency response."

Despite the truck being labeled “Rescue 61,” it was operated by Station 66’s team. The unit was reassigned from Station 61 to Station 66 in October, reflecting routine adjustments made by emergency services to meet changing operational needs.
