A somber note was struck in the Columbus community after a recent altercation led to gunfire and resulted in the tragic death of one individual, with another left wounded. According to a social media post from the Columbus Division of Police, officers responded to an urgent call at a local area hospital last Thursday, January 22, at 11:02 p.m., where two victims of a shooting incident had sought medical assistance. Regrettably, the following morning, one of the victims, Mr. Jon Small, was pronounced deceased.
The circumstances surrounding this violent event were pieced together through vigorous detective work. Police revealed that both victims were attacked on the 4600 block of Tamarack Blvd., the scenario unfolding from a verbal dispute that escalated in a parking lot.
