As the chill of winter continues to embrace DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) have extended a warm invitation to residents and visitors alike to cozy up in local eateries during Winter Restaurant Week. Celebrating the city's culinary landscape, Mayor Bowser articulated the significance of communal support, emphasizing, "Restaurant Week is about getting out in our neighborhoods, supporting local businesses, and enjoying good food with good people," in a statement made by the Mayor's Office.
With 252 establishments throwing open their doors, this gastronomic affair showcases multi-course brunch, lunch, and dinner options at tempting price points. Adding to the diverse culinary tapestry are 25 new participants, including Acqua Bistecca, Barrel House Cafe & Bar, and Marcus DC, broadening the choices for patrons spanning from indulgent steakhouses to Caribbean delights. Encapsulating the vibrancy of DC's food scene, Shawn Townsend, President and CEO of RAMW, heralded the restaurants' essential role, "from creating jobs to bringing people together," as recounted in the mayor's release.
For those drawn to the convivial spirit of DC's restaurant culture, RAMW's website serves as the compass to navigate the week's offerings. Visitors to ramw.org/restaurantweek can peruse special menus and learn more about the participating restaurants, including Dogon by Kwame Onwuachi and Sushi By Bou, as per the Mayor's Office.
