The City of Delaware is set to host its annual Black History Month Celebration next month, with a unique cultural experience that promises both an engaging live performance and a taste of Caribbean flavors. The event, which is scheduled for February 27 from 6 to 8:30 pm, will take place at SourcePoint on 800 Cheshire Road. According to the City of Delaware, Ohio - Government's social media post, attendees will be treated to a light meal courtesy of Omar’s Caribbean Cuisine.
Following the meal, the event will feature "The Voice of Freedom: From Harlem to Civil Rights," a powerful performance that merges music, spoken word, and historical elements from the impactful eras of the Harlem Renaissance and the Civil Rights movement. Designed to combine education with emotional resonance, the show is a nod to the enduring struggle and triumphs of Black Americans through history. The event is free, space is limited, urges the City of Delaware, directing those interested to reserve their spots online.
With limited seats available, the city has made reservations a requirement for those wishing to attend. Prospective guests can book their place at the celebration by visiting the dedicated Eventbrite page provided in the city's announcement. The inclusion of both a culinary and artistic experience serves as a reflection of the intertwined nature of food, art, and history in the tapestry of Black culture.
