It's official – the DFW-Arlington metroplex is not just soaring, it's now the leading tech hub in North America. According to a recent release by Site Selection Magazine, the region has secured the top spot in the magazine's second annual North American Tech Hubs Index, surpassing Washington, D.C. The assessment, which brought Atlanta, Chicago, and the Bay Area into the top-five leaderboard, leans into a blend of infrastructure, talent, and industry growth metrics to determine which areas are cresting the wave of technological innovation.
Driving the high-tech charge in Arlington are companies at the forefront of their respective fields – you've got Sportec Solutions focusing its lens on soccer match data and officiating technology, while Wallbox fuels the electric vehicle revolution with its charging systems, and that's just scratching the surface. Justinplace, a local in the tech industry, heralds the area's growth, affirming it's an electrifying time for tech here, adding to the dynamism of Arlington's tech sector are Salcomp, recognized for its electronics manufacturing prowess, and satellite manufacturer E-Space, both adding weight to the locale's burgeoning reputation as a tech powerhouse.
Editor in Chief Adam Bruns of Site Selection Magazine succinctly puts it, per the City of Arlington, "To draw a bead on where the hottest tech hubs are located, marry the most granular tech infrastructure data (internet exchanges, dark fiber, undersea cable connectivity, etc.) with tech talent metrics and with corporate facility project numbers from tech-aligned industry sectors such as software development, data centers and telecommunications."
But it's not just pride of place that Texas is winning. The state also snagged the title for Best Business Climate in America in the magazine's January issue, as chosen by a notable survey of 30 national site consultants. The consensus is built upon compelling data from reputable industry sources including the Conway Projects Database, TeleGeography, CBRE, and CompTIA, which reflects Texas' appeal to businesses looking to plant roots in a fertile economic landscape that's rich with resources for both startups and massive enterprises alike, it's like the state has found the secret sauce to becoming an epicenter for those who lead the charge in innovation and economic progress.
