In recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Douglas County Government has announced that all of its offices will be firmly shut on Monday, January 19. The county offices, which will resume their services on Tuesday morning, urge citizens to plan their governmental errands around this federal holiday. This temporary closure encompasses all the official activities, as noted by Douglas County.
The Link on Demand services, typically bustling with riders, will also pause operations on the holiday. If you need to get around Highlands Ranch or Lone Tree, you might want to reschedule your ride for January 20, when services will kick back into gear at 7 a.m. To book future rides or for more information about the service, residents can still visit the Link on Demand webpage.
It isn’t all shutdowns and pauses, though. Douglas County reminds its inhabitants that many services remain accessible around the clock via their online platforms. The county officials highlight the convenience of license plate renewals, which can be done easily at any time online or at various kiosks that are scattered not just throughout Douglas County but also across the entire state.
For those who prefer the more tactile experience of in-person transactions, normalcy will swiftly return post-holiday. Offices are scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20, for normal business, as per Douglas County. While the brick-and-mortar doors may be closed temporarily, this small pause serves to honor the legacy of Dr. King, a time to reflect on civil rights and the ongoing march toward equality.
