The search for former New York Giants cornerback Sam Beal has continued for seven months, with his family and authorities still seeking information about his whereabouts following his disappearance in July of last year. NBC New York reported that Beal’s sister, Essence Zhane, posted on Facebook to share the family’s efforts and request public assistance in locating him.
Sam Beal last made contact on July 13, telling his girlfriend he was headed home; authorities confirmed he began the journey, but it was never completed. Beal, a Western Michigan University alumnus who was drafted by the Giants in the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft, was last known to be traveling to Virginia Beach. His girlfriend later found his vehicle there, with personal belongings inside and sand on the passenger seat.
Amid limited details since his disappearance, Beal’s sister, Essence Zhane, shared information about the family in a recent interview reported by The New York Post. She highlighted his role in the family and noted that his children miss him.
The Kentwood Police Department in Michigan has not released new information on the case. The Virginia Beach Police Department continues to support the investigation. The NFL Players Association acknowledged the seriousness of Beal’s situation but did not comment further, and the NFL has not issued a statement. Attempts to reach his sister, Essence Zhane, were unsuccessful. Anyone with information can contact the Kentwood Police Department at (616) 698-6580 or the Virginia Beach Police Department at (757) 385-4141.
