On a Glendale street, Feliz Enrique, 31, was involved in an incident in which a 9-year-old girl and an off-duty police sergeant were assaulted. According to the Queens District Attorney, Enrique has pleaded guilty to several charges connected to the May 10 incident.

The incident began when Enrique approached a girl and struck her, causing her to fall. Off-duty Sergeant Sebastian Hajder witnessed the attack and intervened to apprehend Enrique, leading to a physical struggle.

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz outlined the events, stating that the defendant approached a girl, asked her name, and then struck her, causing her to fall. Bystanders, including an off-duty police sergeant, intervened to detain Enrique. During the struggle, Enrique bit the sergeant in multiple locations, resulting in a portion of the sergeant’s right index finger being severed.

The girl was quickly taken to a local hospital, where she was treated for injuries including bruising, bleeding, and loosened teeth. Queens Supreme Court Justice Toni Cimino is scheduled to sentence Enrique to 17 years in prison on February 2.
