
Texan small businesses can expect continued guidance and support from familiar faces as Governor Greg Abbott reappoints three members to the Small Business Assistance Advisory Task Force. As announced on the official governor's website, Eduardo Contreras, Lisa Fullerton, and Omar Veliz will serve new terms extending up until June 14, 2027, advising state leaders and helping disseminate vital information to the public.
Eduardo Contreras of Austin brings 20 years of experience in IT and software to the advisory council. He has served on the NFIB Leadership Council, the Texas European Chamber of Commerce, and is active in the ASCII Group.
Lisa Fullerton of San Antonio brings experience in franchise management to the Task Force. As president and CEO of A Novel Idea, LLC, she operates several Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon outlets. She also serves on the NFIB board, the Alliance Defending Freedom, and the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County.
Omar Veliz of El Paso is a professional engineer and president of Veliz Construction. He serves on the executive board of the Associated General Contractors of America – Austin Chapter and has chaired the El Paso Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He also advises the University of Texas at El Paso Construction Management Program.
The reappointed members of the Small Business Assistance Advisory Task Force will continue advising and supporting small businesses across Texas, providing experienced guidance to help them navigate a dynamic marketplace.
