A security guard was shot and killed Wednesday evening outside Connie's Seafood Market in Houston's East End, according to police. Officers were called to the 69th Street area near Capitol Street at about 6:15 p.m., where homicide detectives quickly sealed off the scene for an investigation.
As reported by KHOU, Houston Police Lt. Larry Crowson said officers found the security guard at the scene. The department has not yet released the victim's name, age, or gender. Early in the investigation, Houston police also said they did not have a suspect description or information about a possible motive.

Connie's lists a Wayside location at 340 S. 69th St. on its Connie's Seafood website, placing the restaurant near the intersection where officers responded. The restaurant was wrapped in crime-scene tape as investigators worked the area into the evening.

Homicide detectives canvassed the surrounding blocks for witnesses and checked for any available surveillance video, authorities said. As reported by KHOU, Lt. Crowson said investigators still had no suspect information to release and urged anyone with details about what happened to contact HPD.
