Hillsborough County is opening cold weather shelters tomorrow and on Monday, for residents without access to adequate heating. The National Weather Service predicts temperatures could drop to 40 degrees or lower with wind chill.
As per the Hillsborough County website, shelters will be open from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., though capacity may be limited. Authorities recommend staying with family or friends if possible.
Locations include Hyde Park United Methodist Church, Tampa Bay Mission of Hope, Church of God of Prophecy Hyde Park, Amazing Love Ministries, Greater New Hope Church Anointed Ministries, and The Portico. The shelters are for adults only.
