The Honolulu Police Department is currently investigating two separate incidents that occurred last night, a robbery on Keʻeaumoku Street and a subsequent shooting in Hālawa. According to KHON2, the robbery took place at approximately 8:44 p.m., when an unidentified man wearing all black clothing and a ski mask entered a business and brandished a handgun at a 32-year-old man before demanding cash.

The suspect, who fled the scene on foot, is described as an African American man, fully clad in black and concealing his identity with a black ski mask. While the victim reportedly did not sustain any injuries during the incident, the gravity of an armed robbery emphasizes the danger to both individuals and the broader community. As noted by KITV, the firearm brandished was a silver-colored handgun.

Following the robbery, at roughly 9:44 p.m., reports of shots fired were made in the Hālawa area. Responding officers were informed by witnesses of an unknown suspect firing multiple rounds from a white, low-rider, racer-style sedan before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the shooting. Details on this second incident are currently limited, but the shooting persists as a reminder of the prevalent challenges law enforcement face in maintaining safety and order.

Investigators are urging anyone with information on either incident to come forward. Calls to 911 provide immediate response, and HPD has also pointed citizens toward CrimeStoppers at 808-955-8300 as an alternative avenue to assist in these investigations.
