Honolulu residents are being asked to share their experiences and understanding of the 2021 Red Hill fuel spill through a new Department of Land and Natural Resources survey, which takes about 10 minutes to complete. The department says the survey is open to anyone who was using the Navy’s water system at the time, with paper copies arriving in Oʻahu mailboxes starting on January 20 for those without internet access, according to the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Department of Land and Natural Resources is assuring participants that their responses will remain anonymous and only aggregated results will be reported. Residents have until February 28 to submit their feedback online or by mail using a prepaid envelope.
The Department of Land and Natural Resources is working with Hawai‘i-based Anthology Research to conduct a survey about remediation efforts at Red Hill. The results will help create an educational program for residents. People with questions or technical issues can contact Anthology Research at 808-544-3024 or [email protected].
