The saga of the "Red Bull Bandits" has finally reached a close, with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announcing the arrest of a trio accused of stealing energy drinks across the city. The apprehension of these suspects was bolstered by vigilant police work along with community tips submitted to the department’s Unsolved Crimes page. The last of the suspects, 50-year-old David Bishop, was caught on October 24, 2025, in response to a theft at a grocery store on Atlantic Boulevard, as mentioned in a social media post by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Dave Bishop's brush with law enforcement came after an employee reported the theft of 21 packs of Red Bull, leading officers to quickly locate and apprehend him, his arrest revealed a series of similar offenses attributed to Bishop dating back to his release from prison in June. The 'Red Bull Bandits', as they've been dubbed, faced their first crack in the case with the October 2 arrest of 35-year-old Robert Senior. Subsequently, a tip from First Coast Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of 37-year-old James Perry shortly before Bishop's capture completed the law enforcement's roundup of the group.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office praised the community's role in resolving the crime spree, highlighting the effectiveness of collaborative law and public synergy in bringing offenders to justice. The office encourages locals to maintain engagement with the Unsolved Crimes page, asserting that such vigilance could lead to future cash rewards for actionable anonymous tips that assist in solving crimes.
The arrested individuals are now facing what the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office calls "multiple charges for their actions in their crime circle." While the specifics of these charges were not detailed at the time of reporting, the implication is a series of allegations related to retail theft over an extended period. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office invites citizens to visit their Unsolved Crimes page frequently—with the hope that, someone may recognize a perpetrator and help close another case that, until that moment, had been left in the dark.
