Keller's community came together on Tuesday to honor members of its Fire-Rescue Department in a ceremony steeped in tradition and pride. The city council meeting was shared on Keller Public Safety's Facebook page, inviting locals to witness the swearing-in of Chief Charlie Skaggs, Deputy Chief Jeff Huntley, and Fire Marshal Stephanie Billarreal. The post called upon the community to "see y'all TONIGHT as we celebrate recent promotions and a new hire within the Keller Fire-Rescue family!"
The event, which took place at Keller Town Hall starting at 7 p.m., saw these seasoned firefighters receive their badges in a ceremonial pinning that symbolizes their commitment and readiness to protect. It was a moment not only to officially welcome new roles within the department but also to recognize the continuance of dedicated service and leadership. Each of these individuals has vowed to uphold the safety and well-being of their community, a promise made tangible as metal met uniform before the eyes of family, friends, and fellow citizens.
Chief Skaggs, stepping into the role of leading the department, is tasked with carrying on the legacy of his predecessors while forging new paths for the future of fire and rescue services. Deputy Chief Huntley, promoted within the ranks, brings years of experience and a dedication that has been hailed as exceptional.
