The Kirtland Fire Department has once again highlighted their steadfast commitment to supporting a cause that turns everyday waste into life-changing treasures. The Kirtland Fire Department, Lake County, Ohio, in a recent social media post, reminded the Kirtland Community of their role as a collection site for the Aluminum Cans for Burned Children (ACBC) of Cleveland. This community program not only recycles but also raises funds to aid children who have sustained burn-related injuries.
Stepping up their efforts, the Kirtland Fire Department shared in the joy of ACBC's record collection in 2025, "a huge Thank You to all those that dropped cans off!" according to the Kirtland Fire Department, Lake County, Ohio, as the organization had an unprecedented year in gathering donations. An acknowledgment was also extended to the Kirtland Road Department for their contribution, constructing a new shed that will house the donations. The shed, a simple yet solid structure, serves both a pragmatic and symbolic purpose, representing the collective effort of a community dedicated to the cause. The post included a snapshot of this new shed, inviting a visual connection between the community's efforts and the tangible structure that supports them.
The fire department's announcement comes with a gentle nudge to residents wishing to contribute. They urge donors to bag their cans, and importantly, to ensure that no trash accompanies those donations. This adherence allows for the focus to remain on the goal at hand – support for those children in need through the proceeds of recycled aluminum.
