Looking to satisfy your appetite for Chinese fare?

Hoodline crunched the numbers to find the top Chinese restaurants around Cleveland, which all happen to be in the AsiaTown neighborhood. Using Yelp data and our own secret sauce, we produced a ranked list of the best spots to venture when cravings strike.

1. Wonton Gourmet & Bbq

Topping the list is Wonton Gourmet & BBQ, a popular spot for family-style meals at 3211 Payne Ave. The Chinese restaurant, with pictures of the menu offerings lining the walls, is the highest rated Chinese restaurant in Cleveland, boasting 4.5 stars out of 232 reviews on Yelp.

Come for the sizzling marinated meats, spicy pigs' feet, braised beef short ribs in black bean sauce, Hong Kong-style noodles or choose from the wide selection of rice and ramen dishes. Yelp reviewer Emily B. has high praise for the casual eatery, saying, "The service, food and welcoming ambiance are beyond compare in the world of American Chinese restaurants."

2. Szechuan Gourmet

Next up is Szechuan Gourmet, situated at 1735 E. 36th St., and touted as a "hot spot for hot pot" by Cleveland.com. With 4.5 stars out of 172 reviews on Yelp, the Sichuan restaurant connected to Tink Holl grocery is a local favorite with fiery meals that keep diners coming back for more.

Try the pork intestine with spicy sauce, dried pigs' feet with chili, stewed squid and the tongue-tingling ma po tofu (tofu, minced pork and a sauce made with Sichuan peppercorns).

3. Phusion Cafe

Phusion Cafe, located at 3030 Superior Ave., is another top choice, with Yelpers giving the Taiwanese and Asian fusion spot 4.5 stars out of 135 reviews. It can be found in the small Golden Plaza storefront, with the red awning outside, that it shares with Vietnamese and Korean eateries. 

The cafe has an extensive menu, with options that include Taiwanese popcorn chicken, scallion pancakes, five spice duck and Hakka-style pork ribs. Wash it all down with one of the sweet bubble teas.

4. Siam Cafe

Finally, there's Siam Cafe, which has earned four stars out of 196 reviews on Yelp. You can find the Asian fusion, Thai and Chinese spot at 3951 St. Clair Ave. NE.

Start off your meal with the pan-fried dumplings or stuffed crab claws. The eclectic, seafood-heavy menu features fresh lobster made to order with black bean sauce, ginger and scallions, or basil and chiles. Or opt for unexpected fare like the frog with lemongrass or the cumin-spiced lamb.
