An elderly woman died late Monday after a two-vehicle crash at a busy Pflugerville intersection, according to city police. The collision happened around 11 p.m. at FM 685 and East Pfennig Lane, where first responders tried CPR before she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Pflugerville Police Department said in a press release that officers found an unconscious "elderly female" with serious injuries in one of the vehicles and that she was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Round Rock Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, as reported by KXAN.
Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures at the crash site, according to the department's statement. Investigators have not yet released information about what led up to the collision, and police have not said whether any charges are being considered.
