Last Thursday night, flames disrupted the calm at Jack's Restaurant in Lone Tree. South Metro Fire Rescue responded to an emergency call around 9:45 p.m., January 22, due to a commercial fire alarm. Although the fire was small and located inside a wall, firefighting units had to proceed with extensive overhaul operations.
The initial encounter with smoke on the second floor prompted Ladder 34, among various other units, to intensify their response, upgrading the scenario to a working commercial structure fire. Before extinguishing the fire, ensuring the safety of every soul within the restaurant, firefighters performed a primary search. By 11:15 p.m., the incident was reportedly under control, with no injuries having marred the night, despite the restaurant's second floor being filled with smoke, according to South Metro Fire Rescue.
What was a night out or a shift at work was interrupted by the siren call of danger, leading to an unforeseen closure of the business. Its doors now remain shut, likely for months, as the South Metro Fire Rescue's investigators have ruled the fire accidental, raising questions about the unforeseen perils lying dormant in our daily haunts.
