
An inmate's death at Jessup Correctional Institution in Anne Arundel County is now under Maryland State Police scrutiny, after Javon Foster, 38, was found unresponsive in his cell. Foster, who was serving a state prison term, was pronounced dead by emergency medical services, and his body has been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy to discern the cause and manner of his demise.
As reported by Maryland State Police, the Homicide Unit was alerted to the matter at approximately 7:25 p.m. last night by the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Internal Investigative Unit (DPSCS IIU). According to their preliminary findings, Foster's cellmate was present at the time of Foster's death.
The ongoing investigation is a collaborative effort between the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit, crime scene technicians, and the DPSCS Internal Investigative Unit. While details surrounding Foster’s death are still emerging, authorities are methodically processing the scene and interviewing potential witnesses to ascertain the circumstances of the incident.
