As the New Year unfolds, the City of Marysville is inviting locals to engage in a cultural dance form that promises both fitness and fun. Beginning January 8, the Marysville Community Center will host weekly hula classes led by the award-winning instructor Yolanda Ku-u-uipo Taufa’asau-Vincent.
According to a recent social media post by the City of Marysville WA - government, these classes will feature a mix of traditional and modern hula movements, enriched with dynamic Polynesian elements. Open to all ages, the sessions encourage families to learn together and create a strong sense of community.
Promoted as an “island spirit” experience, the classes go beyond dance, inviting participants to connect with the history and culture behind the movements. As the city’s post encourages, attendees are asked to “bring curious hearts and an island spirit.” Those interested in joining the hula classes can find more information and register through the provided link in the City's announcement.
