Memphis is on high alert as police are intensifying their search for four men suspected of committing a pair of carjackings in Parkway Village last Thursday night. According to Action News 5, the first incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when four men allegedly approached a victim seated in a red Toyota Corolla at gunpoint, commandeering the vehicle in the 3100 block of East Danville Circle.
These suspects then reportedly used the stolen Corolla in another carjacking shortly before 10:40 p.m., this time targeting a woman in a Cadillac sedan. She was forced out of her car at gunpoint on the 4000 block of Knight Arnold Road, detailed in a report by FOX13 Memphis. Witnesses last saw the assailants traveling west on Knight Arnold Road, with the fourth suspect following in the red Toyota Corolla.
In an attempt to identify the perpetrators, Memphis Police Department has released surveillance footage depicting one of the suspects, who attempted to use a victim's card in a store located in the 4400 block of Knight Arnold Road. Following this, the individual in question was seen heading east, as stated to FOX13 Memphis.
The second incident, clarified by WREG, involved the culprits interrupting a woman waiting for her son at a gas station on 4002 Knight Arnold Road. Armed with guns and pointed at her head, they coerced her to hand over belongings including keys, phone, and purse. The suspects left in her vehicle and the stolen Toyota, driving towards Lamar Avenue with both victim vehicles later found abandoned just a minute away from the gas station.
The Memphis Police Department is urging the public to come forward with any relevant information. Tips can be anonymously submitted to Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274), a detail shared by all three reporting sources.
