The Niles Post received the Community Policing Outstanding Achievement Award for programs in Berrien County, and Tpr. Macon Derleth of the Niles Post received the Colonel Kriste Kibbey Etue Community Impact Award for his bilingual outreach, with the state noting, "He hosts educational traffic safety presentations in both English and Spanish and organizes and participates in fun events that embody community engagement beyond enforcement," as stated by the Michigan State Police.
