Residents of Milton, mark your calendars for January 28, and prepare to be part of a community tradition. Milton's City Hall is opening its doors for the annual State of the City address. According to a recent news release by the City, the event promises to "reflect back and look forward to efforts to purposefully, deliberately chart the best possible future for Milton." The festivities kick off at 6 p.m. with light refreshments before Mayor Peyton Jamison steps up to deliver his speech, which is set to begin roughly an hour later.
The invitation is extended to the entire Milton community, offering an opportunity for residents to come together and to directly engage with local leadership. Eager to deliver important updates and to unveil future initiatives, Mayor Jamison is expected to discuss topics ranging from the reimagination of Deerfield to preserving green spaces and bolstering public safety efforts. However, event planners ask potential attendees to promptly RSVP by sending an email to [email protected] with all attendee names included, as stated in the original City announcement.
This year's assembly bears special significance, coinciding with the City's 20th anniversary. Since its incorporation, Milton has evolved under the guidance of city leaders and the input of its citizens, fostering a "steady, disciplined, focused dedication" to municipal growth and well-being. "Every year, the State of the City offers the Mayor, other officials, and citizens an opportunity to put what’s happened in Milton and what’s to come in perspective," notes the City's official announcement.
"We hope you, your family, and friends can come to City Hall to listen, learn, and be part of the excitement on the horizon," urges the City of Milton.
