
At approximately 9 p.m. on Saturday, Fentress County Rescue Squad was mobilized to an incident involving a missing individual in Wilder, TN. The person, who had set out on a 4-wheeler along East Bobcat Lane, failed to return, sparking concerns for their safety. Despite intensive efforts by the Rescue Squad and support from the Fentress County Fire Department—including drone surveillance—the team initially could not locate the missing person. The rescue squad shared the details of the search operation on their social media platform.
The search operation took a turn when the Fentress County Sheriff's Department called in assistance from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. A helicopter was dispatched to aid in the expansive search of the rugged terrain. According to the account posted by the Fentress County Volunteer Rescue Squad, the air support proved pivotal. "The Tennessee Highway Patrol was able to locate the missing person, communicate his location, and the individual was transported out of the woods," detailed the Rescue Squad. Even with the area's dense forests and limited visibility, the combined effort of multiple agencies helped bring the individual back to safety.
The outpouring of community support and inter-agency cooperation was evident as the rescue unfolded. Once the missing person was found, their care was promptly transferred to Fentess County EMS. The Fentress County Rescue Squad took to Facebook to express their gratitude, acknowledging the collaborative effort: "We would like to thank the Fentress County Fire Department, the Fentress County Sheriff's Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and all the people who helped with the mission."
