
Missouri's Governor Mike Kehoe has tapped four individuals for key roles within state government, the Governor's office disclosed earlier this week. The appointees are slated to join various boards and commissions, stepping into positions that influence everything from financial regulations to how Missourians say their final goodbyes.
In a move that reaffirms existing leadership, Emmett Bryson of St. Joseph has been appointed as director of the Missouri Division of Credit Unions. Bryson, who had been acting director and part of the division since 2007, brings with him, a rich history in the credit union sector alongside his community service on the board of the Masonic Home of Missouri. His academic credentials include a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from Missouri Western State University, according to a statement from the Governor's Office.
Funeral services in the state will have new oversight with the appointment of William Harlow to the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors. Harlow is the owner of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall and is a member of the Missouri Coroners and Medical Examiners Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. He holds an associate’s degree in mortuary science from Kansas City Kansas Community College.
Penny Kampeter has been appointed to the Board of Nursing Home Administrators. Kampeter works as an educator for Missouri’s Quality Improvement Program and previously served as administrator of the Tri-County Care Center. She has also represented District VI for the Missouri Health Care Association. Kampeter earned a bachelor’s degree in health services from the University of Missouri–Columbia.
George Speckman of Smithville has been appointed to the Missouri Real Estate Appraisers Commission. Speckman works with Pinnacle Valuation Services, Inc., and has prior experience in local government as a city administrator and alderman. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Northwest Missouri State University.
