A motorcyclist, found unresponsive on the side of a road near Kennewick, is now in stable condition following a crash on Locust Grove Road. The Benton County Sheriff's Office reported that another motorist discovered the injured rider late Saturday night and dialed 911, staying with the victim until help arrived.
The single-vehicle accident occurred near Nicoson Road, as confirmed by Tri-City Herald, approximately two miles southwest of the Interstate 82 and Highway 395 interchange. The good Samaritan's call came in around 11:25 p.m., prompting deputies and Benton County Fire District 1 to quickly respond. Despite the severity of the injuries, the motorcyclist was soon able to be reassured to find themselves in stable condition at Kadlec Regional Medical Center on Sunday morning.
After the emergency teams reached the scene, Locust Grove Road had to be temporarily shut, as detailed by Apple Valley News Now. The thoroughfare was reopened by dawn Sunday following the conclusion of the on-site investigation. The Benton County Sheriff's Office extended its gratitude to the resident who was crucial in providing initial support to the injured rider before the arrival of legal and medical authorities.
Meanwhile, in an expression of community solidarity, the Sheriff's Office highlighted the Good Samaritan's actions on social media: "Thank you to the citizen who stopped and remained with the rider until Law Enforcement and Fire Personnel arrived," was posted, as reported by NBC Right Now. The identity of the motorcyclist has not been released to the public. The Benton County Sheriff's Office is presumably continuing to look into the circumstances of the crash.
