The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a nationwide recall of over one million bottles of Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Remover due to potential contamination with Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The bacterium can pose health risks, particularly for individuals with weakened immune systems, certain lung conditions, or those using external medical devices. According to PIX11, consumers in these categories are advised to stop using the product, as exposure could lead to serious infections requiring treatment.

The CPSC noted that the bacteria may pose health risks if inhaled, comes into contact with the eyes, or enters through broken skin. Thrasio, the Boston-based company behind Angry Orange, is recalling approximately 1.5 million bottles, including Fresh Clean Scent and Orange Twist Scent variants, in sizes from 24 ounces to one gallon. As per The New York Post, the recall, identified as number 26-201, advises customers to stop using the affected products and contact Thrasio for a full refund.

The recalled products, distributed between March 2019 and December 2025, were sold at major retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Target, The Home Depot, Meijer, Staples, TJ Maxx, and online through platforms such as AngryOrange.com and Chewy.com. Prices ranged from $4 to $60. The recall also affects international sales, including approximately 43,700 bottles sold in Canada.

The CPSC advised consumers to dispose of the recalled product in its original container and not to empty or recycle it, as a precaution against exposure to the bacteria. To date, no injuries or illnesses have been reported in connection with the contamination. Consumers are encouraged to stop using the product and contact Thrasio for information on obtaining a refund. As of this report, Angry Orange has not issued a public statement regarding the recall.
