
A couple has been displaced following a blaze that swept through their Central City home in New Orleans, as reported by local authorities. The New Orleans Fire Department responded to the fire on Monday evening, which took place near the intersection of Baronne Street and Philip Street, WDSU reported.
The incident, which escalated to a two-alarm fire, was first addressed at around 6:27 p.m., according to the NOFD reports obtained by WWLTV; the situation became intense enough that a second alarm was signaled more than half an hour later to bring additional resources and firefighting personnel to the scene, the firefighting efforts continued, ultimately concluding after a strenuous 1 1/2 hours.
Fortunately, the inhabitants managed to exit the building prior to the firefighters' arrival, and no injuries were documented in the incident, ensures the firefighter’s presence and diligence limited the spread of the fire, which fiercely consumed portions of the home, primarily at its rear, as shown in images shared on social media by NOFD that display firefighters battling the flames and smoke billowing out from the windows of the upper levels, these images depict the extent of the destruction, highlighting significant damage to both the house's siding and rear areas.
