A house on the 2500 block of NW 56th Street in Oklahoma City caught fire, with the attic heavily engulfed in flames around 10:30 a.m. No one was inside at the time, and firefighters rescued three dogs from the home, as reported by the Oklahoma City Fire Department.
The fire was determined to be electrical in origin, and there were no reported injuries. The Oklahoma City Fire Department reminded the public not to re-enter burning buildings, noting the homeowner had attempted to go back inside during the fire.
Firefighters are trained and equipped to handle fires and protect themselves from heat, smoke, and toxic gases. According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department on their Facebook page, the public should follow first responders’ instructions and avoid going back into a burning building. "Once you exit or escape a burning structure, do not reenter under any circumstances." Hazards can become dangerous quickly, so people should wait until the area is declared safe #HereIfYouNeedUs.
