The Plymouth Police Department has released a breakdown of their activity for the week spanning December 28, 2025 to January 3, 2026, giving us a glimpse into the rhythm of law enforcement in the community. In a social media post, the department detailed responding to 901 incidents, which included everything from traffic stops to wellbeing checks. The specifics, which were made public yesterday, provide a litany of on-the-ground interactions: 18 arrests, 11 criminal complaints, 30 motor vehicle accidents, and 148 traffic stops, to name a few.
It goes beyond the rote enforcement of the law; the statistics reveal a persistent pulse of concern for community welfare—one where officers conducted 62 medical, mental, and wellbeing checks. "Thank you to our officers for their dedication and to our community for your support! Stay safe," the police department wrote.
Lest we imagine the phone lines of Plymouth PD ringing solely with dire emergencies, the report sheds light on more mundane facets of their workweek—with officers being summoned to 35 house and building alarms and documenting 14 instances of suspicious activities, anchoring the more dramatic scenes often associated with police calls. There were also 15 disturbances that required police presence, suggesting that even in quieter communities, discord finds its way to the surface from time to time. Beyond serious accidents and alarms, the community also deals with accidental 911 calls—38 in just one week—showing how technology can cause unintended problems.
